I-Pad zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Having watched some painfully mired livestreaming (technology fail - curious...) and followed the live-blogging at the NY Times during Steve Jobs' big announcement, I feel confident in saying, as others have, Apple is putting out a big ol' i-touch.
Apple chief executive, Steve Jobs, unveils the iPad.

This may be a game-changer for news media, especially newspapers, but I don't think it will radically change book culture just yet.

I just wanted to throw something up here to show that we *do* pay attention to technological advances that impact book publishing here at SotB... but we don't have to like them or get giddy about them.

That whole presentation, with all the applause and "awesome" this and "just amazing" that was a bit too tent revival for my liking anyhow. Right?

I just start laughing every time I think of of someone answering the tablet. I know it's not for that but it would be hilarious if it were.

Me: Hang on a second, Brian, I have a call coming in.

Brian: Um, I'm sorry I thought you said you bought a large phone. Hello!

Me: Shut up. I have to take this...

Brian: What you can video phone him on your gigantic new device?

Me: Ha ha ha...

Brian: Seriously, that iPad is iMoronic.

Me: Shut up, shut up! You are always teasing me!

Brian: Huh?!?

Me: Ever since we were kids you were always picking on me and breaking my stuff.

Brian: Um...

Me: Fine, if that's the way you want to be then just stay out of my room.

Brian: Ah, I'm getting a little uncomfortable here.

Me: Oops, sorry, my friend, I guess I was having a different conversation. said...
